NOKIA N95
RRP: £599.99 (sim-free) Nokia is due to release it's latest generation Nokia series phone in Spring 2007. We thought the Nokia N93 would stay at the top of the Nokia tree for some time, but this new phone represents another step forward in mobile phone technology. Whereas the N93 showed off its video recording and camera capabilities, this phone with it's 'slide' action is aiming to replace your camcorder, your camera, your MP3 player, your PDA and your Satellite Navigation system. All the while it will fit in your pocket (it is much smaller and less chunky than the N93). The phone has a 2.6 inch screen (240x320 resolution) and shows off 16 million colours. The handset and screen slide either way, revealing the normal phone keypad. It has a 5 Megapixel camera and is capable of recording movies to 'DVD quality'. Amateur film directors will be pleased. The GPS receiver will be an optional extra, but we expect many UK suppliers to include these in special packages. The N95 has the Symbian operating system and is also fully 3G compatible enabling the fastest internet connections. More details will follow, though we expect this phone to retail at around £450 stand-alone. Contract deals will obviously cut the cost of this phone and we expect similar deals to the N93 which is proving extremely popular in the UK.
